Miguel Ángel Almodóvar nasceu em Madrid, a 9 de setembro de 1950. Jornalista, investigador e divulgador especializado em nutrição e gastronomia, é licenciado em Ciências Políticas e Sociologia, com especialidade em Demografia e Ecologia Humana. Durante duas décadas foi um dos rostos mais populares da televisão espanhola, colaborando e dirigindo programas em diferentes canais. Atualmente, colabora em diversos meios de comunicação e é membro da Unidade de Investigação em Cultura Científica do Centro de Investigações Energéticas, Ambientais e Tecnológicas, em Madrid.
É autor de mais de duas dezenas de livros de diferentes temáticas, com destaque para as áreas alimentar e nutricional.
