Licenciado pela Escola Nacional de Belas-Artes de Nancy. Depois de trabalhar como designer gráfico nos museus da Cour d’Or, em Metz, mudou-se para Paris e, de regresso a Nancy, fundou o atelier de design gráfico Ithaque em 1998. Foi professor nas Universidades Paul Verlaine de Metz e Carlomagno de Nancy. Ministrou workshops criativos em colaboração com organizações sociais e administrações públicas. Participou na fundação dos Éditeurs du Mercredi e publicou vários livros infantis. Em 2007, quando de uma visita a um museu japonês, descobriu a técnica do ombro-cinéma, que deu lugar à série Pijamarama. http://ithaque-design.fr
