Michaël Ferrier vive em Tóquio. Professor de Literatura Francesa na Universidade de Chuô, colabora nas revistas Art Press, L’Infini e Nouvelle Revue Française. A sua obra, marcada por reflexões sobre a alteridade, aborda as fronteiras entre universos culturais, nomeadamente entre a cultura japonesa e a ocidental. É autor dos romances Tokyo, petits portraits de l’aube (2004) e Sympathie pour le fantôme (2010), e do ensaio Japon: la barrière des rencontres (2009), entre outros títulos.
