Michael Burleigh was born in 1955 in London, the city where he was also educated. A professor of contemporary history, he is a highly awarded author and renowned commentator on international politics, managing a political risk consultancy service in London's financial and commercial center. Among his books, translated into several languages, the following stand out. Small Wars, Faraway Places and The Third Reich: A New History, for which he received the Samuel Johnson PrizeIn 2012, he was awarded the Nonino International Prize because of his career. He is married and lives in central London.
