Maximina Girão
She was born in Coimbra, in the parish of Santo António dos Olivais, where she lived until she was 5 years old. From that age, she moved with her parents to Porto, where she continues to live and where she has put down strong roots. She is passionate about the city, its hidden corners and charms, and the conviviality with its people, where she has forged indestructible bonds.
It was in Porto that he studied, successively, at the Colégio de Nossa Senhora da Esperança, at the Liceu da Rainha Santa Isabel and at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Porto.
She holds a Bachelor's degree, a Postgraduate degree, and a Master's degree in History.
He taught in various establishments and at various levels of education, from the 2nd and 3rd cycles, Secondary, Primary Teacher Training School and Higher Education, the latter being where he taught for the last 15 years.
She has conducted research in various areas, with published works in both the field of pedagogy, on the topics of cultural exchange, heritage citizenship, deafness and its pedagogy, and in the scientific area of History (History of the City of Porto, Heritage/Heritage Citizenship, History of Education in Portugal).
Having dedicated a large part of her life to teaching, she considers herself a "maker" of many futures, due to the many seeds she has planted among the many generations of students who have passed through her hands.
She has been writing poetry since a very young age and, during her time at FLUP (Faculty of Arts of the University of Porto), she won two awards there. She has the following published works: Sun Petals (Winning work of the XV National Poetry Prize of Vila de Fânzeres, 2004); I glimpse a brief whisper. (2005). His poetry is scattered across various publications: Jornal Poetas & Trovadores, Antologia Poets Forever (Vol. VI, Editora Cidade Berço, 2005); Poetry and Prose (Social Services of the Ministry of Education, 2006); Porto Editora Agenda; Anthology Dictionary of Arts and Letters, 2008; IV Anthology of Lusophone Poets, 2011; other newspapers and magazines.
