Matthew Cordell é autor e ilustrador de inúmeros livros ilustrados que se tornaram conhecidos em todo o mundo.
Matthew venceu inúmeros prémios, entre os quais a Medalha Caldecott em 2018 e o White Ravens. Como ilustrador, colaborou com muitos outros autores, incluindo Gail Carson Levine, Philip C. Stead e Rebecca Kai Dotlich.
Matthew vive com a sua mulher, a escritora Julie Halpern, e os seus dois filhos nos subúrbios de Chicago.
