Markus Orths

Markus Orths nasceu em 1969. Estudou Filosofia e Literatura Inglesa e Francesa, e agora reside e trabalha em Kalsruhe. Tem recebido diversos prémios pelos seus romances e contos, incluindo o Prémio Limburg (2003), o Prémio Norte Reno/Westphalia (2003), o Prémio Marburg de Literatura (2002), o Prémio Moerser de Literatura (2000) e o Prémio Floriana. Em 2000 ganhou o «Open Mike» de Berlim, que é um dos mais importantes e prestigiosos concursos literários para novos escritores.
Com Catalina, Markus Orths venceu o Sir Walter Scott Award, Golden Laurels para Melhor Romance Histórico de 2006, um dos mais importantes prémios europeus de literatura.
