Marina Nemat

Marina Nemat nasceu em 1965, em Teerão, Irão. Após a sua detenção na prisão de Evin, emigrou para o Canadá, país que desde então considera a sua casa. A Prisioneira de Teerão foi editado em cerca de trinta países, tendo alcançado o estatuto de bestseller internacional. Foi também nomeado para vários prémios literários, incluindo o Young Minds Award, no Reino Unido, e o Borders Original Voices Award, nos Estados Unidos. Em 2007, Marina recebeu o primeiro Human Dignity Award do Parlamento Europeu e, em 2008, foi distinguida com o prestigiado Prémio Grinzane em Itália. Atualmente, dá aulas sobre a escrita de memórias na School of Continuing Studies da Universidade de Toronto.
