Maria Luisa Rosas Nicolau de Almeida de Olazabal está ligada ao Vinho do Porto por laços familiares e profissionais. Seu pai, Fernando Nicolau de Almeida, foi, durante 62 anos, responsável pela Direcção de Enologia da Casa Ferreirinha e figura de grande destaque no sector vitivinícola nacional. A partir de 1981, a convite da Administração da Casa Ferreirinha, tomou a seu cargo a inventariação e organização do valioso Arquivo Histórico daquela casa.
