Maria José Lancastre

Maria José de Lancastre nasceu em Lisboa, onde frequentou o curso de Românicas da Faculdade de Letras da Universidade Clássica.
Foi viver para Itália em 1967 e licenciou-se pela Universidade de Pisa, onde fez a sua carreira de docente, ensinando Literatura Portuguesa.
É autora de uma edição crítica do texto da «Escola Vicentina», O Auto das Padeiras, e de ensaios sobre literatura moderna (Mário de Sá- Carneiro, «Orpheu», António Botto). Foi um dos directores da revista «Quaderni Portoghesi» (1977-1989). A sua Fotobiografia de Fernando Pessoa (INCM, 1981) foi publicada também em Itália, em França e no Brasil.
Com Antonio Tabucchi, traduziu para italiano grande parte da obra de Fernando Pessoa.
