She was born in Viseu in 1946. She was a teacher at different levels of education, throughout 40 years of teaching in public and private education. After completing her Primary Teacher Training course, she graduated in History from the University of Porto, obtained a master's degree in Communication Sciences from the Nova University of Lisbon, and a doctorate in Education Sciences from the University of Aveiro. This is her fourth novel.
