Maria Ângela Guimarães

Ângela Guimarães nasceu em Lourenço Marques e licenciou-se em Ciências Histórico-Filosóficas, na Faculdade de Letras de Lisboa, e em História e Geografia, na Universidade de Argel. Doutorou-se em História Contemporânea, na Universidade de Paris VIII. Viveu durante vários anos na Argélia, na China e em Cabo Verde. Actualmente é Professora Associada do ISCTE onde lecciona disciplinas relacionadas com a história contemporânea de África e da Ásia. Encaminhou a sua investigação para as questões do Império Português no período contemporâneo, tendo publicado recentemente a obra Uma Relação Especial ? Macau e as Relações Luso ? Chinesas (1780-1844).
