Maria Almira Soares é licenciada em Filologia Clássica, tendo lecionado, ao longo de mais de trinta anos, as disciplinas de Português, Literatura Portuguesa e Latim. A Revolta das Frases foi o seu primeiro livro para a infância, publicado pela DQ, ao qual foi atribuído, em 2003, o Prémio de Revelação da APE/IPLB em Literatura para a Infância e a Juventude. Meu Querido Livrinho! é o seu segundo livro.
