First Latin American winner of Templeton PrizeMarcelo Gleiser is a theoretical physicist and professor of Natural Philosophy, Physics, and Astronomy at Dartmouth CollegeHis work extends from cosmology and the applications of information theory to complex phenomena, the history and philosophy of science, and the interaction of culture and science. Member of American Physical Society, was awarded the Presidential Faculty Fellows Award assigned by the White House and by National Science FoundationGleiser is the author of five books and co-founder of the blog. 13.8, where he writes about science and culture with physicist Adam Frank. A dedicated science communicator to the general public, his books have been translated into fifteen languages. He was born in Rio de Janeiro and lives in Hanover, New Hampshire (USA).
