Manuel Laranjeira

Médico e escritor português, nasceu em 1877 e suicidou-se em 1912. Toda a obra que deixou (ensaio, cartas, artigos, teatro e verso) corporiza a busca do «tom da sua própria verdade» (nas palavras de Nuno Júdice), numa antecipação da doutrina existencialista. Mantendo relações privilegiadas com Miguel de Unamuno, António Carneiro e Amadeo de Souza-Cardoso, Manuel Laranjeira sempre relacionou o atraso português com o divórcio entre os intelectuais e o país real.
