Nasceu na Praia da Vitória em 1948. É professor do primeiro ciclo do ensino básico, licenciado em Administração Escolar, aposentado. Casado, tem dois filhos e três netos. Colaborou com artigos de opinião em jornais da região, nomedadamente «A União», «Jornal da Praia» e «Diário insular»; Publicou em 2000 o livro «A socialização, representações e implicação das famílias na Escola de Rei» na área da sociologia da educação, edição da Secretaria Regional da Educação e Cultura; Publicou o livro de contos e prosas «Lunetas e outras solidões» (2013), integrando no Plano Regional de Leitura - Ler Açores – 2º e 3º ciclos do ensino básico. Publicou o romance «Alice - venturas e desditas de uma rapariga açoriana» (2016).
