Mancur Olson (1932-1988) foi um economista e sociólogo norte-americano que ficou conhecido pelos seus estudos pioneiros dos fenómenos sociais e políticos através da lente de modelos económicos.
Os seus livros tratam de temas como a tributação, a ação coletiva, bens públicos e direitos contratuais no desenvolvimento económico, tendo sido a Lógica da Ação Coletiva a sua obra mais influente.
