Mafalda Duarte, é licenciada em Psicologia pelo Instituto Superior da Maia (ISMAI), é mestre em Gerontologia pelo European Master in Gerontology (EUMAG) pela Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam e é mestre em Gerontologia Social pelo Instituto Ciências Biomédicas Abel Salazar (ICBAS - UP). É doutorada Gerontologia e Geriatria, pelo Instituto Ciências Biomédicas Abel Salazar (ICBAS - UP). É Presidente no Instituto Superior de Saúde do Alte Ave (ISAVE) e membro da Unidade de Investigação e Formação sobre Adultos e Idosos (UNIFAI) / Center for Health Technology and Services Research (CINTESIS). Os seus interesses de estudo incidem nos domínios psicológicos associados à condição de pessoa idosa frágil e na criação de propostas de intervenção na fragilidade.
