Luís Miguel Bernardo é professor catedrático aposentado do Departamento de Física da Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade do Porto. Licenciado em Engenharia Eletrotécnica pela Faculdade de Engenharia da mesma universidade, obteve o mestrado e o doutoramento em Física na Universidade Estatal de Virgínia, nos EUA. Regressado a Portugal, realizou trabalhos de investigação em ótica física, tendo-se dedicado nos últimos anos à história da ciência e à divulgação científica. Presentemente exerce o cargo de diretor do Museu de Ciência da Universidade do Porto.
