Escritor e jornalista, Luis Fernando Verissimo é um dos mais populares e prestigiados cronistas brasileiros. Filho de Erico Verissimo, um dos maiores nomes da literatura em língua portuguesa, Luis Fernando Verissimo nasceu em Porto Alegre, em 1936. Aos 16 anos, foi morar para os EUA, onde aprendeu a tocar saxofone, hábito que cultiva até hoje. Escreve regularmente nos mais importantes jornais e revistas do Brasil e assina uma crónica semanal no Expresso. Entre as distinções e prémios recebidos, estão a Medalha de Resistência Chico Mendes, o Prémio de Isenção Jornalística, o de Intelectual do Ano em 1997 e o Prix Deux Oceans, Biarritz, 2004. É autor de mais de 60 livros, entre os quais livros inesquecíveis como "O Clube dos Anjos", "As Mentiras que os Homens Contam", "Comédias para se Ler na Escola", "A Mesa Voadora", "Sexo na Cabeça" e "O Melhor das Comédias da Vida Privada", que a Dom Quixote muito se orgulha de publicar em Portugal.
