Lígia Laginha nasceu a 21 de dezembro de 1981. Natural de Loulé, Algarve, licenciou-se em História na Faculdade de Letras da Universidade de Lisboa. Apaixonada por literatura, sobretudo por poesia, começou a escrever em 2006, tendo como inspiração maior Florbela Espanca, mas também Fernando Pessoa, Mário de Sá-Carneiro, Antero de Quental e Bocage. Tem no soneto a sua forma poética de eleição, privilegiando igualmente a prosa poética e a sextilha.
Interessa-se também por gastronomia e música, nomeadamente o fado cantado por Amália, outra das suas grandes inspirações.
Atualmente, exerce funções na autarquia local, nomeadamente no Museu Municipal de Loulé.
