Licenciado em História da Arte e doutorado em Literatura Ibero-Americana pela Vanderbilt University, Nashville [Tennessee, EUA], autor de cinco livros de poesia: Os caprichos [Limiar, 1987], A metafísica do insecto [Kíron, 1988], Os secretos felinos [Limiar, 1991], O lado negro do lado branco [Limiar, 1993] e Os retratos [Pedra Formosa, 1998], aceso crítico nomeadamente da poesia existencial de Egito Gonçalves, de revelação de Poesia/1984, ex-aequo, da Associação Portuguesa de Escritores e de docente do Ensino Superior.
