Lara Xavier nasceu em Angola, morou na Holanda e vive atualmente em Portugal. Iniciou-se na escrita com o livro Gosto Deles Porque Sim (ed. Texto, 2007).
Atualmente, divide o seu trabalho entre a escrita, a edição e o design gráfico. A sua capacidade para perceber e expressar os sentimentos das crianças faz com que as suas histórias sejam lidas com agrado tanto por miúdos como por graúdos.
