K. G. Van Loon

Karel Glastra van Loon nasceu em Amesterdão em 1962. Trabalhou como jornalista independente para várias publicações diárias e televisão. Estreou-se na literatura com o livro de contos Vannacht is de wereld gek geworden que esteve na lista do ECI Prize. Um dos seus contos obteve o Rabobank Spring Prize em 1997. Fruto da Paixão, o seu primeiro romance, foi galardoado com o prestigiado Generale Bank Prize em 1999, foi traduzido para 14 línguas e esteve durante vários meses nos primeiros lugares dos livros mais vendidos, tendo atingido os 250 mil exemplares na Holanda.
