Júlio Pomar (Lisboa, 10 de janeiro de 1926 — Lisboa, 22 de maio de 2018). Frequentou a Escola de Arte Aplicada António Arroio e a Escola de Belas-Artes do Porto. Lá, integrou um movimento que se autointitulava «Os Convencidos da Morte» e organizou a primeira Exposição da Primavera, no Ateneu Comercial, com a participação de artistas antifascistas. Em 1950, realizou em Lisboa uma exposição individual na Sociedade Nacional de Belas Artes, onde apresentou obras marcantes da pintura portuguesa. Até 1975, o seu trabalho incide principalmente no retrato, com recurso ao desenho e à pintura. Substituiu o óleo pelo acrílico. Tem uma Fundação com o seu nome.
