Júlio Dantas

O polígrafo Júlio Dantas nasceu em 1876, em Lagos, e morreu em 1962, em Lisboa. Cultivou os mais variados géneros literários, como o romance, a poesia, o teatro e conto, tendo-se também dedicado ao ensaio. Alcançou os seus maiores êxitos no teatro, com obras como A Severa, A Ceia dos Cardeais, Rosas de Todo o Ano e O Reposteiro Verde. O facto de ter sido invectivado no conhecido Manifesto Anti-Dantas, de José de Almada-Negreiros, é sinal da sua notoriedade de homem público.
