Juan José Saer nasceu em Santa Fé, Argentina, em 1937. Está radicado em Paris há várias décadas. Professor universitário, ensaísta, constista, romancista e poeta, da sua vasta produção literária a Editorial Caminho publicou em 1989 o romance A Ocasião, que obteve o Prémio Nadal 1987, a que se segue As Nuvens, também romance, absolutamente a não perder.
