Juan Carlos Tedesco
Born in Argentina in 1944, he studied Educational Sciences at the University of Buenos Aires. He was a professor of History at the universities of La Plata, Comahuo, and La Pampa. He has collaborated with UNESCO since 1976, holding Regional Director positions in Latin America and the Caribbean until 1997, when he was Director of the UNESCO International Bureau of Education in Geneva. He is currently the director of the regional headquarters of the UNESCO International Institute for Educational Planning in Buenos Aires. He has published numerous articles and books on the relationship between education and society. He has undertaken numerous medical assistance missions and is a member of several scientific and academic councils in various countries around the world. "The New Educational Pact" is his latest book, published in Spain in 1995.
