Joshua Gans é doutorado em Economia pela Universidade de Stanford. Leciona Gestão Estratégica e Inovação Técnica e Empreendedorismo na Rotman School of Management, da Universidade de Toronto.
É autor de vários livros de Economia e Gestão publicados em vários países sendo um autor marcante do MIT.
Desenvolveu especializações na natureza da competição tecnológica e inovação, crescimento económico, economia editorial, organização industrial e regulação económica, publicando regularmente em diversas e reputadas publicações como o Financial Times ou a American Economic Review.
