José Silva is a renowned wine and gastronomy critic. He presents the program The Hour of Bacchus transmitted by RTP N, RTP Africa and RTP InternationalHe wrote the Gastronomic Guide - Restaurant Guide of Portugal (which had 5 editions) and also the Matosinhos Gastronomic ItineraryHe writes a weekly article for the News Journal and writes for the magazine Wine Passion, in which he is part of the tasting panel. He is regularly a judge in gastronomy competitions throughout the country. He is a commissioner of the National Gastronomy Congress, with the Matosinhos City Council, in partnership with Fernando Melo and Hélio Loureiro.
