José Pedro Leite was born in Porto on April 12, 1981. He has always written and has almost always lived near the sea. He graduated in law from the Catholic University. For some years, he was a secondary school teacher. Between 2014 and 2018, he collaborated with the publisher Estratégias Criativas, in the poetry and literature department. He has five published books, all of poetry: "Other coastlines" (2008); "Hands and Fire" (2009), winner of the Políbio Gomes dos Santos Award; "Vertical breathing" (2011), a work that received an honorable mention in the Irene Lisboa Prize in 2013; and "Knowledge of volcanoes" (2015).
