José Maria Brandão de Brito é economista e professor catedrático jubilado do ISEG da Universidade de Lisboa, onde lecionou cadeiras de Economia e História Económica e Social. Foi administrador executivo da TAP/Air Portugal, presidente da RTP, membro do Conselho Geral da EDP e do Instituto Europeu de Florença. Vice-reitor e membro do Senado da UTL. Foi também administrador do European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (Londres, 2017-2023). É investigador acreditado junto da FCT. Além de ter colaborado regularmente na comunicação social escrita e em vários canais de televisão, é autor de algumas dezenas de livros e artigos sobre Economia e História Económica e outros temas sociais.
