José Manuel Bento Sampaio

José Sampaio nasceu em Almeirim, em 1944. Licenciou-se em Medicina e, posteriormente, especializou-se em Pediatria. Exerceu vários cargos dirigentes no Hospital Distrital de Torres Novas. Pós-Graduado em Medicina Humanitária. Foi Bolseiro do Conselho da Europa no Hôpital Enfant Malade, em Paris, e representante de Portugal no Programa Hope (Administração Hospitalar), na Dinamarca, em 1999. Foi professor na Escola Superior de Enfermagem de Santarém. Colaborador voluntário da Associação Médica Internacional (AMI), exerceu medicina na Guiné-Bissau (2002), Timor Leste (2003) e Cabo Verde (2005).
