José Luís Sampedro
José Luis Sampedro Sáez (Barcelona, February 1, 1917 – Madrid, April 8, 2013) was a Spanish writer, humanist, and economist who advocated for a "more humane, more supportive economy, capable of helping to develop the dignity of the people." In 2010, the Council of Ministers awarded him the Order of Arts and Letters of Spain for "his brilliant literary career and his commitment to the problems of his time." In 2011, he was awarded the Spanish National Literature Prize.
