Licenciado em Geografia e Planeamento Regional, Mestre em Geografia e Planeamento Regional – Gestão do Território e Doutorado no ramo de Geografia e Planeamento Regional, especialidade de Economia e Sociedades, pela Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas (FCSH) da Universidade Nova de Lisboa (UNL).
Professor Auxiliar na FCSH da UNL, no Departamento de Geografia e Planeamento Regional (DGPR) e no Departamento de Estudos Políticos (DEP).
Bolseiro da Comissão Fulbright – Portugal no Departamento de Antropologia e Geografia da California State University – Stanislaus.
Investigador no Centro de Investigação em Ciências Sociais da Universidade Nova de Lisboa – CICS-Nova.
É investigador do Instituto de Dinâmica do Espaço da FCSH da UNL.
