José Jorge de Melo

José Jorge de Melo nasceu em Ponta Delgada a 5 de Outubro de 1942, onde viveu e se educou até aos vinte e um anos de idade. Depois de cumprir dois anos de guerra na colónia da Guiné-Bissau, licenciou-se em engenharia e trabalhou no ramo das telecomunicações. Por razões profissionais e por prazer, deslocou-se a dezenas de países em todo o mundo. Em 40 anos calcorreou milhares de quilómetros, sempre com uma pedra no sapato: um dia vir a escrever um livro!
