Nasceu no Porto, em 1932.
Sócio-economista, ex-dirigente cooperativista, antigo colaborador da Seara Nova e dos Cadernos de Circunstância.
Membro do MUD-Juvenil, participante na Revolta da Sé e no Golpe de Beja, ex-preso político e antigo exilado em Argel, ex-dirigente do MAR, LUAR e PRP.
Membro do Comité de Acção da EPHE (Sorbonne) em Maio 68.
Quadro superior da CUF, presidente do Ateneu Cooperativo e da Associação dos Inquilinos Lisbonenses.
Professor universitário em Paris-XIII, no ISE e no ISPA.

Perito das N. U., fundador da SEIES, membro da Alliance Pour Un Monde Responsable, Pluriel et Solidaire e DRD-Démocratiser Radicalement la Démocratie. Participante na Assembleia Mundial de Cidadãos (2001).
