José Fernando Lambelho
José Fernando da Cruz Lambelho was born in 1958 in Aldeia de Joanes (Fundão). He lives in Aldeia Nova do Cabo.
He studied at the Seminary of Fundão and Guarda and at the Higher Institute of Theology of Évora. He was ordained a priest by the Archdiocese of Évora, where he is currently incardinated. He was Parish Vicar of the Pastoral Zone of Reguengos de Monsaraz and Vila Real de Santo António and Parish Priest in Vila do Bispo, Sagres and Raposeira (Algarve).
In 2004 he was appointed Chaplain, for the United States, of the Portuguese Communities in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, and Spiritual Director of the Portuguese Language Christian Courses for Southern California.
He has been a member of the Portuguese Motorcycle Federation since 1998. He was a driving force behind the creation of the National Motorcyclist Day and the Protector and Patron Saint of Motorcyclists, the Archangel Saint Raphael.
He was a teacher of Catholic Religious and Moral Education and other subjects in the Preparatory Cycle and Secondary School of Reguengos de Monsaraz, the Secondary School of Vila Real de Santo António, the C+S of Vila do Bispo, and the Externato de Nossa Senhora dos Remédios in Tortosendo.
He is currently retired due to cancer.
