José Carlos Gomes

José Carlos Gomes is from Ermesinde, born in 1978. He began reading newspapers and following cycling races as a child. It was natural for him to become a journalist and, later, to work as a cycling commentator, combining his two passions. As communications and press advisor for the Portuguese Cycling Federation, he closely followed the last decade and a half of work of José Poeira, whom he confesses to admiring and being a friend of. In this close contact, he heard countless stories from the national team coach. He never doubted that these were memories that narrated and explained the history of a golden period in Portuguese cycling. Putting them into a book was an obligation. The result is...
