José Caldas de Almeida

É Professor Catedrático jubilado de Psiquiatria e Saúde Mental da Faculdade de Ciências Médicas da Universidade Nova de Lisboa.
Dirige o Lisbon Institute of Global Mental Health.
Conduziu múltiplos projetos científicos, sobretudo nas áreas da epidemiologia psiquiátrica e da investigação de serviços.
Foi Coordenador Nacional para a Saúde Mental e responsável pela implementação do Plano Nacional de Saúde Mental, entre 2008 e 2011.
Entre 2000 e 2006 trabalhou em Washington DC como Coordenador do Programa de Saúde Mental da OMS para as Américas e, entre 2013 e 2016, coordenou a EU Joint Action sobre Mental Health and Wellbeing.
