Médico cardiologista, José Alberto Oliveira (1952-2023) nasceu em Souto da Casa, Fundão . Publicou o seu primeiro livro de poemas em 1992, na Assírio & Alvim, e surpreendeu pelo seu lirismo discreto e pela diversidade temática de aproximação a aspetos do quotidiano, onde além disso são notórias as influências da poesia inglesa. Traduziu Auden, Russell Edson, Frank O’Hara e Charles Simic, entre outros. Foi um dos principais colaboradores do livro «Rosa do Mundo — 2001 poemas para o futuro».
