Jorge Dias de Deus é professor catedrático jubilado no Instituto Superior Técnico, da Universidade de Lisboa, com notável obra científica em física de altas energias, astrofísica e cosmologia, e sistemas dinâmicos. Presidiu ao Centro Multidisciplinar de Astrofísica (CENTRA) durante muitos anos. Para além do seu trabalho académico, sempre se preocupou com a cultura científica, sendo autor dos livros Ciência, Curiosidade e Maldição, Da Crítica da Ciência à Negação daCiência, Einstein... Albert Einstein (com Teresa Peña) e Viagens no Espaço-Tempo publicados também pela Gradiva, na coleção «Ciência Aberta».
