Jon Skovron nasceu em Columbus, Ohio. Após muitas viagens, de Pittsburgh a Londres e de Nova Iorque a Seattle, estabeleceu residência na área de Washington onde vive com os dois filhos. Já foi ator, músico, nadador salva-vidas, vendedor de bilhetes de espetáculos teatrais e programador web, mas tornou-se escritor após o sucesso de publicação de Poder e Vingança, o primeiro volume da trilogia Império das Tormentas. É também autor de romances para jovens adultos e contos publicados em várias antologias de literatura fantástica.
