John Summerson

John Summerson (1904-1992) foi um dos historiadores mais importantes da arquitetura britânica do século XX.
Entre os seus livros mais destacados estão John Nash (1935), Georgian London (1946), Heavenly Mansions (1949) e a obra monumental Architecture in Britain, 1530-1830 (1953), reeditada em várias ocasiões. Em 1945, foi nomeado diretor do Museu Sir John Soane, que permaneceu até 1984.
Juntamente com Nikolaus Pevsner e Rudolf Wittkower, Summerson é considerado um dos grandes teóricos da arquitetura no Reino Unido.
