Sir John Keegan (1934-2012) foi docente da Academia Militar de Sandhurst, especialista em assuntos de Defesa do The Daily Telegraph, e um notável historiador militar. Capaz de descrever a guerra do ponto de vista dos soldados na frente de combate, combinava o estudo das fontes com uma imaginação fértil, o que resultava em textos brilhantes, plenos de emoção e realismo.
