Joaquim Arena
Joaquim Arena was born on the island of São Vicente, Cape Verde, in 1964, and emigrated with his family to Lisbon in the late sixties.
In Lisbon he studied Law and worked as a journalist and musician.
Back in Cape Verde, in the late nineties, he founded the newspaper The CitizenHe was a lawyer, journalist, cultural advisor for the Alliance Française of Mindelo.
In 2000, she published the novel. A Lighthouse in the Desert. Back in Lisbon, he published The Truth of Chindo Luz (Oficina do Livro, 2006), considered the first novel about the Cape Verdean community residing in Portugal. Currently a journalist at the Sapo portal.
