João Seabra
João Seabra was born in Lisbon in 1949. He graduated in Law from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon and was ordained a priest in 1978. He received his doctorate in 2008 from the Faculty of Canon Law of the Pontifical Urbaniana University in Rome, with the thesis "The Portuguese Law of Separation of State and Church of April 20, 1912".
He was the national head of Communion and Liberation between 1988 and 2011. He is a canon of the Patriarchal See of Lisbon, a professor at the Higher Institute of Canon Law of the Portuguese Catholic University, and president of the Association for Education, Culture and Training.
He is the author of the following works: "Straight to the Point" (2003), "The State and the Church in Portugal at the Beginning of the 20th Century" (2009), "Witnesses to a Fact" (2016) and "Rooted in Certainty" (2017).
