João Morgado nasceu na Covilhã. Já foi operário têxtil, jornalista, empreendedor, formador, consultor e chefe de gabinete de três presidentes de câmara. Hoje dedica-se inteiramente à escrita e à (acredita ele) conclusão do doutoramento em Comunicação na Universidade da Beira Interior. Autor plural em temas, linguagens e estilos, percorre o romance histórico, o contemporâneo, a poesia, o teatro e o conto. Nove prémios literários, obras traduzidas em inglês, russo, sérvio, indonésio e chinês. Em 2025, Dust in the Gale foi selecionado para o Dublin Literary Award 2026. Distinguido no Brasil com a Grã-Cruz da Ordem do Mérito Cívico e Cultural e com o Troféu Cristo Redentor pela Academia de Letras e Artes de Paranapuã.
