João Mário Lourenço Bagão Grilo (Figueira da Foz, 8 de novembro de 1958) é um cineasta português.

É licenciado em Sociologia (1983) e doutorado em Ciências da Comunicação (1987)). É Professor Catedrático do Departamento de Ciências da Comunicação da Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas da Universidade Nova de Lisboa. Tem publicado artigos de crítica, história e teoria do cinema e da imagem. Foi autor da crónica Imagens na revista Visão.

A sua primeira longa-metragem, A Estrangeira (1983), recebeu o Prémio Georges Sadoul no Festival de Veneza.
