João Magueijo (Évora, 1967) é um cientista português e professor catedrático no Imperial College de Londres. Físico teórico e estudioso do cosmos, foi um dos pioneiros da Teoria da Velocidade Variável da Luz que veio questionar a premissa mais básica por trás da Teoria da Relatividade de Einstein. É autor de vários livros na área das Ciências, além de Bifes Mal Passados e de Olifaque – Uma farsa em emigres, o seu mais recente trabalho literário.
